Sketching Hong Kong Fringe Club

The buildings in which Hong Kong Fringe Club (South Block) and its neighbour, the Foreign Correspondents' Club (North Block) occupy were originally the headquarters of a local dairy company, Dairy Farm, and thus the structures were otherwise collectively called the old Dairy Farm Building.  The first block was built in 1892 and was further expanded in 1913, 1917 and 1925.

In order to capture the beauty of these two buildings, Urban Sketchers Hong Kong gathered on 4 June and captured the many different faces of this landmark.

Sketching at Maryknoll Convent School

On 16 April, Urban Sketchers Hong Kong assembled once again to sketch at the historic campus of Maryknoll Convent School in Kowloon Tong.   Thanks to Ms. Barbara Hung (Chairperson of MCS Foundation), Dr. Maria Lee, the school supervisor and Mr. Yan, the teacher of MCS, we enjoyed a wonderful day sketching the beauty of the historic buildings on campus.

During the show-and-tell session, members of USKhk and MCS shared techniques, exchanged ideas and views on the many sketches produced on site.

A group photo of all the happy results!  Before taking a look at this year's result, here is the link to last year activity at MCS: http://uskhongkong.blogspot.hk/2015/02/maryknoll-convent-90th-anniversary.html

Sketching in the Hong Kong Museum of History

A last-minute change of venue due the extreme cold weather, Urban Sketchers Hong Kong visited the Hong Kong Museum of History and spent a day in the warm indoors to sketch the wonderful exhibits which depicted the changes of Hong Kong through time and also a collection of porcelain from the Ming Dynasty.
